Actual $4,000 Burial Insurance Prices

Here you will see a listing of actual funeral insurance quotes from multiple highly rated providers. We need you to be aware of a few things as you browse these rates.

  1. All rates are consistent with an applicant who would say no to every health question with each of these companies.
  2. Every burial insurance company will determine your exact price by your exact age. You will notice that we didn’t list the rates for every single age. If we did, this would be extremely long. However, you can see a price for an age that is close to yours. This allows you to get a good estimate of what you would pay at your current age.
  3. These companies are just a handful of the many that we work with. Your best and cheapest plan may very well be with one of these companies. Then again, it may not.

Two Extremely Expensive Final Expense Companies To Avoid

This probably comes as no shock to you since the following statement applies to virtually every industry imaginable.

Not all companies that have insurance policies for final expenses are created equally.

Some are unnecessarily expensive relative to their competition.

Below are two such companies

If you speak with them, they will quickly tell you stories to justify why their insurance is so much more costly relative to what other companies charge.

Just know this.

It’s all smoke and mirrors.

There’s no reason to spend 15-40% more for a product for some intangible reason.

#1 LINCOLN HERITAGE

This company is probably the most guilty of this practice. To give them credit, they are an extremely large player in the burial insurance business. They sell a lot of policies every year.

However, their level of production is not an indication of quality.

Here’s the bottom line

Their entire Funeral Advantage Final Expense system is designed to benefit the agents and the company.

The consumer is the last person they have built their system to benefit.

If you buy coverage through Lincoln heritage, you will pay roughly 15%-300% more. The range is so wide because it depends on your health. In any case, whatever they offer you, some other reputable final expense company will for a A LOT less.

#2 Colonial Penn

Everyone knows them by their spokesperson Alex Trebek. Colonial Penn was one of the first insurance companies to enter the final expense market.

Life insurance from Alex Trebek has only two final expense products they can offer you, and neither are very good.

One policy has health questions and one does not. The one with health questions will not accept many of the most common health ailments present among the average burial insurance applicant.

Even if you were able to qualify for their policy that has questions, it’s still very costly.

Now

For anyone who is not medically eligible for their policy that has underwriting, they then offer them their no health question policy. This policy is extremely expensive. It can be as much as 200% more costly compared to a plan with another company.

Not to mention, it comes with a two year waiting period.

It does not matter if you qualify for their policy that has health questions or not. Both policies are much more expensive compared to what other companies charge.

That’s the truth of it.

Keys To Choosing The Right Policy For YOU

Getting the right policy for your depends on a few different things. You want to consider the following when deciding how much coverage to buy.

  1. What kind of service would you like- traditional burial or cremation?
  2. What is your budget- how much can your comfortably afford each month for this coverage?
  3. Do you want to leave money to anyone?
  4. Do you have any other bills that will need to be paid upon your passing?

All of these things should be taken into consideration to help you determine how much coverage to buy.

Here’s the most important thing

The most important variable to consider is your budget.  You may do all the calculations and determine that you want $20,000 in funeral coverage protection, but if you can’t afford it don’t try to buy it.

If you cannot afford the monthly payment for the coverage you would like, you need to explore getting less coverage.

Final expense life insurance is no different than any other kind of insurance. If you stop making your car insurance payments, will you be covered? Nope.

The same is true with final expense coverage. This is why selecting a payment that comfortably fits in your budget is so critically important.

How To Find The Best Coverage

There are lots of insurance companies that will offer you a burial insurance plan. The key to getting the best one for you is to compare offers from multiple insurance companies.

Here’s how you do that

Contact an independent agency (such as Choice Mutual).

Tell them all about your health and what you are looking for. With this information they will get quotes from all the various burial insurance companies they represent.

Then it’s just a matter of choosing whichever quote comes back as the cheapest.

Keep this in mind.

Independent agencies are free to represent as many insurance companies as they want.

For example, Choice Mutual is independent and contracts with over 15 different companies. In addition, we are always on the lookout to add more companies that can add value to our customers.

We do this specifically so that we can compare prices from all of them to get you the best deal.

It doesn’t cost you any money to use the services of an agency and your insurance doesn’t cost more.

It’s like having your own personal burial insurance shopper whose only goal is to ensure you pay the least amount possible.

FYI, the only way to buy coverage without dealing with an agent is to buy a guaranteed issue policy. Those always cost a lot more and have a 2 year waiting period.

Cheap funeral insurance and immediate coverage plans are only available by buying through an agency.
