But wait

There are a few things to remember when you look over these prices.

First, rates are always calculated based on your exact age. You will notice that we didn’t list every single age. If we did, this page would be super long!

Regardless of your actual age, these prices give you rates close of to your age where you can get a good estimate of the approximate cost.

Second, if you have smoked cigarettes within the last month, you will pay roughly 30-50% more. All the rates you see are for non tobacco users.

Third, these five companies are just a few of the burial insurance companies that we represent. We have many more carriers other than these.

Lastly, your health plays a role in the cost. In most cases, we can find you an insurer that will accept ALL your health conditions. Your Choice Mutual agent will learn about your health, so they can recommend which companies view your health the best.

The Inside Scoop On Guaranteed Issue Life Policies

You may have seen ads on TV for these policies, or even through the mail. Insurance companies are tripping over themselves to come out with a guaranteed issue plan.

So what’s the deal with them?

$9,000 Burial Insurance Quotes

Basically, a guaranteed issue life insurance policy is one where the insurance company issues it to you without knowing anything about your health. They don’t ask any health questions, and they don’t look at your medical history.

Sounds good right?

Not so fast!

You know the saying- If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

While that saying doesn’t fully apply to guaranteed issue plans, part of it does.

So here’s the bottom line.

Guaranteed issue plans have their place in some rare circumstances, but most people should not be buying them.

There are two major drawbacks to these kinds of policies.

  1. They are expensive. Since the insurance company is taking on a ton of risk not knowing about your health, they have to charge more money each month to cover this increased risk. Guaranteed issue plans will always cost a hefty amount more than plans that do have health questions.
  2. They don’t pay a death benefit if you die within the first two years. Going back to the increased risk, the insurance company must impose this rule to prevent people on their death bed taking them out and collecting a check a few months later. If you die within the first two years, the insurance company will merely refund all your premiums plus interest. This two year waiting period applies to every single life insurance company that offers a guaranteed issue plan. They all do it.

When Guaranteed Issue Is A Good Idea

Basically, when you cannot qualify for a final expense policy that has underwriting (health questions), then and only then should you resort to a guaranteed issue plan.

It’s important to never default to a guaranteed issue plan. By doing so, you give up these two HUGE benefits.

  1. You can pay less. Qualifying for a plan where you say no to all the health questions will unequivocally result in a much lower monthly payment.
  2. Your coverage begins immediately. When you are approved for a plan that has underwriting, it means your coverage starts right away instead of having to wait two years.

Here are some health situations where a guaranteed acceptance plan is your best bet and quite frankly necessary.

  • Cancer (other than basal cell) within the last 2 years
  • A full blown stroke (not TIA attacks) within the last year
  • A heart attack within the last year
  • AIDs or HIV
  • Dialysis within the last year
  • Congestive Heart Failure
  • Heart or circulatory surgery within the last year

If you have some health issues that are not on that list, we can almost certainly find you immediate coverage with some company. We work with well over 10 burial insurance companies, and they all have unique underwriting. This is how we are able to secure instant coverage for the vast majority of our clients.

However, if you do have any of those health conditions on that list, a guaranteed issue policy will absolutely be your cheapest option.

Please remember this.

All of those health scenarios will 100% mean you will endure a waiting period with every company no matter what. Please don’t think we are putting you on about this. There is no company that will offer you immediate protection if you have any of the health issues stated above.

Keys To Finding The Best $9,000 Burial Policy

Once you make the decision that you want the peace of mind that a burial insurance plan affords, your next step is to find a company that will give you the best plan.

Here’s the deal

The best final expense life insurance policy is simply the one that costs the least, covers you as soon as possible, and is underwritten by a financially secure insurance company.

Knowing what you are looking for is important, so you’ll know it when you see it.

As most shoppers today know, shopping around is the best way to ensure you get the best deal. In regards to funeral insurance, how you go shopping around is the dilemma here.

You essentially have two options before you.

  1. You can personally spend hours calling 10-20 burial insurance companies to get quotes. They will merely refer you to an agent whereby you will have to await their call. After many hours of calling and waiting, you would eventually have all the quotes you are looking for. Then you could see which one is cheapest.
  2. You can make a single call to an independent agency like Choice Mutual that represents all those same companies, and you can get the same quotes in just a few minutes.

Which option sounds better to you?
