In 2014, Metlife released a guaranteed acceptance whole life policy for seniors who wanted to take care of their final expenses.
Unfortunately, it’s no longer available because they discontinued it after a few years.
If you need final expense insurance, Metlife cannot help you.
Does Metlife Offer Burial Insurance?
At present, Metlife does not offer final expense insurance.
While the date is unknown, Metlife chose to exit the final expense insurance market sometime after 2014.
They do sell life insurance. Per their website, they offer the following life products:
- Term life
- Group variable universal life
- Group universal life
- Accidental death
Burial life insurance is notably absent from their product lineup.
In 2017, Metlife separated its U.S. retail business by launching Brighthouse Financial.
From that point on, Brighthouse Financial began operating independently of Metlife.
Brighthouse also does not offer final expense life insurance for seniors.
